Will Ospreay wants women’s wrestling to get a much bigger spotlight — and he says he is doing more than just talking about it. The AEW World Champion revealed that he regularly sends Pro Wrestling EVE matches to Tony Khan, and that connection directly helped his wife Alex Windsor land an opportunity with AEW.
Ospreay discussed his involvement with EVE during an interview with WPRK 91.5 FM. The conversation started with Clockwork Carnage, which Ospreay helped develop and initially tested through EVE before bringing the concept to AEW.

EVE as a Testing Ground
Ospreay said he enjoys trying things that haven’t been done before, and EVE’s smaller reach makes it the perfect place to experiment. “I’ll happily trial it on EVE because although it keeps growing, we’re a lot of a smaller reach to other promotions,” he explained.
But there is a bigger reason he stays involved. “My whole thing is just, like, I really want to push women’s wrestling as far as it physically can go because it’s undersold and it’s one of these things that have been underappreciated for so long,” Ospreay said.
How Alex Windsor Got Signed
Ospreay enjoys being part of EVE because of the wrestlers involved and the opportunity it gives them to get noticed. He revealed that AEW has been supportive of the promotion — to the point where he personally sends matches to Tony Khan.
“The amount of times I’ll send Tony an EVE match,” Ospreay said — and that is exactly how his wife got signed. Khan watched the match where Alex Windsor wrestled Jamie Hayter — the first time the two had ever met, let alone wrestled — and that was enough. “He saw that and was just kind of like, ‘All right, I’ll bring her in.’”
Ospreay said he is grateful that EVE can now serve as another doorway for women who have spent years grinding for opportunities. “Now we can sell to all of these girls who have been busting their ass off for so long… if the door opens, kick it down, bro.”
Ospreay is clearly using his position in AEW for more than his own matches. He sees EVE as a place where women can get opportunities, prove themselves and put their work directly in front of Tony Khan — and Alex Windsor is already proof that the pathway works.
