Ilja Dragunov‘s AEW era begins in earnest this week. The newest All Elite Wrestling signee — revealed at the 2026 WrestleDream pay-per-view — will make his in-ring debut on the October 21 episode of Dynamite at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Florida.

The announcement
Fresh off his WrestleDream debut, Dragunov joined Renee Paquette and AEW president Tony Khan for the post-event media scrum, where the trio confirmed the Dynamite debut date on the spot. It is a rapid turnaround for the former WWE standout — introduced as a new signing on Sunday, in the ring by Wednesday.
Dragunov, one of the most intense and physical workers in wrestling, departed WWE in August and immediately became the most sought-after free agent on the market. His signing was teased with a vignette on Dynamite before Renee Paquette introduced him live at WrestleDream.
What to expect
AEW has a stacked roster, but Dragunov’s reputation for hard-hitting, no-nonsense wars instantly makes him a must-watch — and a potential threat to every titleholder in the company. No opponent has been announced for Wednesday, so expect the company to give him a showcase that announces his arrival in a big way.
