NCT Xiaojun Hey Somebody solo debut

The cinematic teaser, which dropped across NCT’s official channels, gives fans their first real glimpse of the world the singer has built for his solo era. Fans who waited through schedule posters and concept teasers finally got the narrative hook of the album’s visual universe, and the reaction was immediate — Xiaojun and HeySomebody hashtags trended among WayZenNi within hours of the film going live.

A Solo Debut Years in the Making

Xiaojun has been one of the most recognizable voices in the NCT universe for years. As a core member of WayV, NCT’s China-based unit, he’s earned a reputation as a powerhouse vocalist — the kind of singer who gets tapped for drama soundtracks, collaboration singles, and featured guest spots on other artists’ tracks.

But until now, he’s never released an album of his own. “Hey, Somebody” changes that, marking his first solo project since joining SM Entertainment’s flagship boy group system. The timing is deliberate: WayV is currently in the middle of its third concert tour, “BORN THIS Way,” having performed in Hangzhou earlier this month with a Chengdu date on the schedule, and the solo debut adds a whole new dimension to his momentum this year.

What We Know About ‘Hey, Somebody’

The EP is a compact five-track release, and its title track will arrive in both Mandarin and English versions — a natural fit for Xiaojun, whose appeal spans both Korean and Chinese-speaking fanbases. Both the digital release and the physical edition of the album are slated for October 26.

The Mandarin version, in particular, is a meaningful choice. While NCT’s solo projects have often leaned into Korean or English, Xiaojun leaning into his roots for his debut statement song signals exactly who this record is for: the fans who have waited the longest.

With just days left before the release, the rollout is expected to accelerate — fans should keep an eye on WayV’s official channels for the title track’s music video and any performance schedules tied to the debut.
