Ross County Run Riot in League One

League One leaders Ross County produced the result of the weekend, thrashing Queen of the South 7-1 away from home. The Staggies have now scored at a staggering rate this season — averaging 3.8 goals per game after just 10 matches, with a goal difference of +32. Hamilton Academical continue to go toe-to-toe at the top after a 2-1 win at Airdrieonians, while Alloa Athletic thumped East Fife 3-0, East Kilbride and Montrose drew 1-1, and Peterhead beat Cove Rangers 2-0 to leave Cove bottom of the pile.

Tight at the Top in the Championship

In the Championship, Stenhousemuir sit two points clear at the summit after a 1-1 draw with Raith Rovers. Partick Thistle closed the gap with a narrow 1-0 win away at Ayr United on Friday night, thanks to an early goal from Mark McKenzie. Inverness Caledonian Thistle beat Arbroath 2-0 to move into fourth, seven points off the pace, while Greenock Morton defeated Queen’s Park 2-0 to send them bottom. Dunfermline Athletic and Livingston played out a goalless draw, and Partick Thistle’s home form continues to impress — the Jags are on their longest ever unbeaten home run in the league at 24 games.

Stranraer Take Over in League Two

Stranraer are top of League Two on goal difference ahead of Clyde after a commanding 2-0 win at The Spartans, with goals in the 12th and 55th minutes. Clyde kept pace by beating Annan Athletic 4-1, while Elgin City sit five points back after a 0-0 stalemate with Edinburgh City. Kelty Hearts edged Forfar Athletic 2-1, Dumbarton and Stirling Albion drew 1-1, and Annan remain rooted to the bottom with just three points separating them from seventh-placed Stirling.

With leaders emerging in all three divisions, the title races are already taking shape — but as any Scottish football fan knows, October form guarantees nothing in May.
