BET has ordered 20 more episodes of the rebooted stand-up series, which premiered in June as “ComicView: Rooftop Series,” according to an exclusive report from Variety.

60 Comics, One Hollywood Rooftop

Chris “CP” Powell returns as host of the program, which will see 60 comedians performing on a Hollywood rooftop. Season 2’s lineup mixes established veterans with rising talent.

Seasoned comics Affion Crockett, Cocoa Brown, Lavell Crawford, and Luenell are joining the Season 2 roster alongside a fresh crop of up-and-coming performers.

A Franchise Reborn

The original ComicView was a staple of Black comedy television for years, launching the careers of countless stand-up stars. BET’s decision to revive it as a rooftop series gave the format a modern twist — open-air sets, a big-city backdrop, and a new generation of voices.

With 20 new episodes on the way and a heavyweight mix of veteran headliners and fresh talent, Season 2 looks set to cement the reboot’s place in the network’s lineup. Comedy fans can expect more laughs from the rooftop soon.
