Crawley Town have sacked head coach Colin Kazim-Richards after a 3-2 home defeat to Shrewsbury Town left the Red Devils five points adrift at the bottom of League Two.

The decision came immediately after Tuesday night’s loss, which was Crawley’s seventh defeat in just 10 league games. They have managed only one win in League Two all season — form that forced the board’s hand.
A Brutal Dismissal, A Clean Sweep
Kazim-Richards’ assistant Julian Gray has also been relieved of his duties, while director of football Erdem Konyar will leave the club too — a full clear-out of the football leadership as Crawley fight to survive in the EFL.
In a statement, the club thanked all three: “The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Colin and Julian, who joined during a challenging period and played an important role in securing the club’s EFL status at the end of last season. We would also like to thank Erdem for his hard work and commitment since returning to the club last year.”
First Job, Short Chapter
Crawley was Kazim-Richards’ first managerial job. The former Turkey international, whose playing career spanned 18 years and included spells across England, Scotland, the Netherlands and beyond, took over during a difficult period last season and succeeded in keeping the club in the EFL.
But this season’s collapse — a single victory in 10 outings and a growing gap to safety — proved too much. The club has not yet named a successor, and with Crawley already cut adrift at the foot of the table, the new boss will inherit a rescue mission from day one.
