Damian Priest Fires Back at R-Truth's Social Media Post After SmackDown Injury Scare

Damian Priest is not letting R-Truth have the last word. Days after their WWE SmackDown singles match on October 16 ended in an injury scare, Truth took to social media to tell fans he’s fine — and jokingly accused Priest of trying to kill him. Priest, never one to back down, fired back in a new interview with WWE Radio’s Off The Ropes.

“Can you believe this guy is trying to blame me?” Priest scoffed when asked about Truth’s post. The former World Heavyweight Champion dismissed the claim that he “tried to end his life” in the ring, flipping the script entirely: according to Priest, it was Truth who put himself in danger just trying to beat him.

The Injury Scare

The October 16 SmackDown bout between the two was called off by the referee after Truth landed awkwardly while hitting Priest with a missile dropkick. A few days later, Truth updated fans on social media that he is okay — while playfully pointing the finger at his former partner.

The incident cut short what had been a charged encounter between the former allies, and the stoppage sparked concern among fans who flooded social media with well-wishes for the veteran.

The Feud Is Getting Personal

Priest’s response shows this rivalry is only getting more personal. His cold dismissal of Truth’s joke as a “stupid thing” underscores the completely different, colder persona Priest has adopted since turning his back on their partnership in September. With the October 23 SmackDown approaching, fans are watching closely to see if these two collide again — and whether Truth is cleared to get his revenge.
