Mini Vikingo was unexpectedly pulled from the October 20 episode of WWE NXT. General Manager Robert Stone announced during the show that the lucha star was not cleared to compete, scrapping a scheduled six-man tag team match.

The match was set to pit Vanity Project (Jackson Drake, Ricky Smokes & Brad Baylor) against the trio of E.K. Prosper, Mini Vikingo and Chazz ‘Starboy’ Hall. The bout came together after Vanity Project eliminated Vikingo and Hall from the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, sparking a backstage altercation between the two sides.
Terrible Timing Before A Title Shot
The clearance issue arrives at the worst possible moment for Vikingo. He is scheduled for in-ring action at Héroes Inmortales on October 24, where he will challenge Rey Fenix for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship. Being sidelined on NXT just days before one of the biggest matches of his career raises obvious questions about his status for Saturday’s showdown.
What We Don’t Know Yet
WWE gave no reason for Vikingo not being cleared, and no update was offered on whether his Héroes Inmortales title challenge is in jeopardy. With four days to go until the AAA event, fans will be watching closely for word from either WWE or AAA on whether the Mini Vikingo vs. Rey Fenix cruiserweight title match goes ahead as planned.
