You’d expect a wrestling fan who got cracked in the forehead by a sword to be furious. Instead, the 38-year-old Yokohama office worker hospitalized after Tiger Jeet Singh’s saber attack says the experience was “awesome” — and his only regret is that the cut wasn’t deeper. The fan spoke to Tokyo Sports after attending the October 21 Strong Style Pro Wrestling event at Korakuen Hall, recounting the bizarre incident for the first time.

The Night Tiger Jeet Singh’s Saber Found a Fan
The attack happened at the October 17 show, when the 82-year-old wrestling legend was making his entrance at Megumi Kudo’s 40th anniversary show. Singh started swinging his trademark saber through the crowd and caught the fan directly in the forehead. Bleeding, the man was eventually taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The longtime fan — who has watched pro wrestling since elementary school and grew up seeing Singh and Abdullah the Butcher on TV — says he doesn’t even remember the blade making contact. “I don’t remember being stabbed. Suddenly there was a ‘bang,’ and I thought, ‘I’ve been hit, this is awesome.'”
Why the Hospitalized Fan Wishes the Cut Was Deeper
The injury wasn’t serious, and doctors closed the wound with medical staples. That’s where the disappointment crept in. Rather than being upset about getting his head busted open, the fan admitted, “I wish they had cut a little deeper… I’m actually a little shocked.” He’d hoped for a permanent scar as a souvenir of the encounter he’d dreamed about since childhood.
He holds no grudge against Singh either. Asked whether he’d go see the legend again if Singh returns to Japan, the fan made it clear he’d happily be there — presumably with his forehead ready.
