“White Blast” plot: a body in the snowstorm
The film follows Gap Soo (Kim Yun Seok), a stationmaster nearing retirement, and his newly appointed successor Hyun Taek (Koo Kyo Hwan), who discover a mysterious body at a rural train station cut off by a heavy snowstorm. The isolated Seoloh Station setting drives the tension.
“White Blast” parody posters explained
Distributor SHOWBOX released parody posters on October 22, riffing on four beloved films:
The “Once We Were Us” parody shows Gap Soo and Hyun Taek side by side on a bench in front of Seoloh Station, with the tagline “At our coldest, we were at our most suspicious” — a twist on the original’s “At our lowest, we shone the brightest.”
The “The King’s Warden” parody retitles the film to “The Man Who Lives With the Station”, recreating the original poster with the duo standing before a tunnel in heavy snow: “Year 2016, Seoloh Station, the story the blizzard tried to erase.”
The “Salmokji: Whispering Water” version keeps the original tagline “You can’t get out there alive” but swaps “a reservoir between life and death” for “a train station between life and death” — with a figure holding a shovel on snow-covered tracks.
The “Colony” parody gives both leads complicated expressions under the tagline “The beginning of a new successor,” riffing on the original’s “The beginning of a new evolution.”
The final poster, the film’s original key art, shows Seoloh Station itself — the stage where this snowbound mystery unfolds.
