‘Saigon Oppa’ Plot: A Comedy Road Movie
‘Saigon Oppa’ is a comedy road movie depicting the turbulent journey of two Vietnamese husbands who come to Seoul in search of their wives — who had travelled to Korea to meet a K-pop star. The film is directed by Park Gyu Tae, the filmmaker behind the comedy ‘6/45’, and is an international co-production involving Korea’s FilmLine, Vietnam’s BHD, and WebTVAsia.
Hwang Chan Sung’s Character: Min Ho
Min Ho is a K-pop star living under the bright spotlight who becomes entangled in an unexpected incident with Thien Minh (Kieu Minh Tuan), a Vietnamese dentist who has come to Korea in search of his wife. While he appears perfect on stage, Min Ho is a character who harbours very human concerns about his life and the choices he has made behind the scenes — giving Hwang Chan Sung plenty of emotional range to play with. ‘Saigon Oppa’ is slated for release in 2027.
