Franklin Templeton has added about $150 million in shares of its tokenized money market fund to the XRP Ledger, according to CoinDesk reporting from October 24, 2026. The move brings the network’s total to nearly 193 million shares worth roughly $200 million.
According to the report, two subscriptions on Thursday nearly quadrupled the fund’s tokens on the network. What stands out is the structure: all of the sgBENJI shares on the XRP Ledger sit in a single wallet that shares its authorized transaction signers with the issuer.
What the $150 Million XRP Ledger Addition Means
Tokenization — turning traditional fund shares into blockchain-based tokens — has become one of Wall Street’s favorite ways to experiment with crypto rails. Franklin Templeton’s sgBENJI shares represent ownership in its money market fund, and placing them on the XRP Ledger lets them move on a public blockchain network while remaining traditional fund shares underneath.
The concentration of everything in one wallet is notable. CoinDesk reports the receiving wallet shares authorized signers with the issuer, meaning the same parties control issuance and custody — a centralized setup that reflects how institutions are approaching tokenized securities: on-chain tokens, but with traditional custody controls kept close.
Institutional Tokenization Keeps Growing
The scale-up matters less for retail crypto traders than for what it signals about institutional adoption. A $150 million addition that nearly quadruples the fund’s on-network presence shows that tokenized money market funds are moving from pilots into production-scale deployment.
For the XRP Ledger specifically, the addition deepens its footprint in the real-world-asset tokenization race, an area where multiple blockchains are competing to host institutional money market funds. Whether other asset managers follow with similar moves will be the story to watch.
