AEW listened to its fans, and fast. Jay White’s brand-new faction lasted barely a night under its original name, “The Last Outfit,” before a wave of fan backlash forced a rebrand to “The Cut” just hours after its debut on the October 24 episode of AEW Collision.

AEW Changes Jay White’s Faction Name From The Last Outfit to The Cut
White announced on Collision that his new alliance, combining the Bang Bang Gang and The Dogs, would be called The Last Outfit. The name immediately drew heat online, with fans making it clear they were not sold on it.
AEW moved quickly. After the show, the company posted a new video of White cutting a promo on social media, and this time he introduced the group under a completely different name. Working the new name into a shot at Jon Moxley and the Death Riders, White declared his crew the group capable of finally cutting the Death Riders out of AEW.
“We are top-shelf high rollers, the golden gun slingers, some dirty dogs, your Collision cowboys. We are the last outfit capable of slicing out the cancer that is Jon Moxley and the Death Riders from the heart of AEW!”
Who Is in Jay White’s New Faction?
The group itself has not changed, only the name. White remains aligned with Juice Robinson, Ace Austin, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, David Finlay, and Clark Connors. Finlay and Connors joined forces with White and the Bang Bang Gang on Dynamite after the group went after the Death Riders.
White had even teased bringing back the Bullet Club name before settling on The Last Outfit, which carried extra weight given that both White and Finlay previously led versions of Bullet Club in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Now the group has already burned through two names before its run has really begun, giving The Last Outfit one of the shortest lifespans of any faction name in recent memory.
Whether The Cut sticks remains to be seen, but the quick pivot shows AEW is paying close attention to fan reaction in real time.
