A top-10 win feels good — but the troll afterwards can feel even better. Cincinnati and UCF led the best social media trolls from college football’s Week 8, celebrating their upset victories with posts aimed squarely at their beaten rivals.

Cincinnati is riding high after downing previously undefeated No. 8 Texas Tech 37-24 on Saturday. Running back Cole Tabb ran for 173 yards in the upset, scoring both through the air and on the ground, while quarterback JC French IV threw four touchdown passes.

But it was what the Bearcats did on social media after the game that really raised the stakes. Cincinnati’s athletics account posted what looked like an ordinary final-score graphic — a “Bearcats win” image with the score and a shushing emoji. Standard stuff, until you noticed who the post tagged: none other than Cody Campbell, the prominent Texas Tech megabooster.
The Bearcats also took a shot at the Red Raiders with a stat note: French’s four touchdown passes matched a feat last achieved against Texas Tech by Brendan Sorsby — when Sorsby was still at Cincinnati in 2024, before his headline-making transfer to Texas Tech.
UCF and South Carolina Join Week 8 Troll Parade
UCF also delivered a troll after its own upset victory, the stunning 39-31 double-overtime win over No. 2 BYU — the Knights’ first-ever win over a top-five team. South Carolina joined the trend too, posting its own victorious post-game commentary after its upset win.
Week 8 was packed with chaos — ranked teams falling, unbeaten runs ending, and wild finishes across the country. But for Cincinnati, UCF and South Carolina, the victories tasted sweeter with a little social media salt on top.
