Transfer Rumors: Arsenal, Man United, Liverpool Track Bayern Star Lennart Karl

Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool are monitoring Bayern Munich star Lennart Karl, according to the latest transfer talk, with the German wonderkid’s situation in Munich becoming one to watch heading into 2027. The 18-year-old’s reduced role and a public rebuke from Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeness have put Europe’s giants on alert.

Lennart Karl Transfer: Arsenal, Man United and Liverpool Alerted

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are among the clubs alerted to Karl’s ongoing situation at Bayern Munich. Sources told TEAMtalk that the German wonderkid could become one to watch heading into 2027 if circumstances do not improve, and intermediaries have reportedly been sounding out suitors across Europe.

Karl committed his future to Bayern earlier this year by signing a new contract running to 2029, turning down interest from Arsenal and Liverpool to continue his development in Munich. Barcelona and Real Madrid are also said to remain admirers, having tried to sign him as a 10-year-old after a standout youth tournament.

Why Lennart Karl’s Bayern Future Is in Doubt

Karl enjoyed a breakout campaign last season under Vincent Kompany, registering nine goals and seven assists in 34 appearances. His performances earned him his first senior international caps under Julian Nagelsmann and a place in Germany’s provisional World Cup squad before injury denied him the trip to North America. New national coach Jurgen Klopp has also called him up.

This season, however, things have not gone to plan. Karl has started only two Bundesliga matches and one Champions League game, with one goal and one assist in nine appearances overall. The form of summer signing Ismael Saibari has intensified competition for places, while TEAMtalk reports Bayern are also unhappy with aspects of Karl’s off-field behaviour.

Hoeness addressed the matter publicly in comments to BILD, saying: “I intend to have a serious conversation with him. He is far from being a superstar. Young players need to have humility. The comparisons with [Michael] Olise are clearly not doing him any good. There is still a huge difference between the two.”

An immediate exit is not anticipated, and Bayern hold leverage with Karl contracted until 2029. But if his situation does not improve, the queue of suitors — led by three Premier League heavyweights — will only grow.
