Sho Yamazaki is teaming up with writer Fuyu Aoki for a brand-new manga launching on October 30 on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket platform. The series, titled Shuran Reijo no Yarakashi: Seiryaku Kekkonmae Yakesake, Ki ga Tsuku to Reikokuna Konyakusha to Dragon no Hate no Naka, promises a wild mix of romance, comedy and fantasy chaos.

The announcement came from the official Magazine Pocket account on X, confirming the debut date and the creative team behind the new series. With a title that translates roughly to the story of a violent drunken noblewoman waking up in a dragon’s den with her cold-hearted fiance, readers already know this will not be a quiet romance.
Sho Yamazaki New Manga October 30: What Is the Story About?
The story follows Arwina, a young noblewoman living in the shadow of her younger sister Lorelai. Lorelai is described as extremely adorable, and she draws the attention of almost every young man around her. For Arwina, finding a match of her own has never been easy.
Just when it seems her luck has finally changed, Arwina meets a man who appears completely immune to Lorelai’s charm. It looks like the perfect match, until everything falls apart on the night of her 21st birthday, when her fiance calls off the marriage.
Heartbroken and furious, Arwina does what many of us might fantasise about doing: she heads to the bar and drinks her feelings away in a full drunken rampage. The trouble starts the next morning, when she wakes up in bed with an unknown man, and realises her night out has created a far bigger mess than a broken engagement.
From there, the premise opens the door to political marriage drama, a cold-hearted fiance, and a dragon’s den that is unlikely to stay in the background for long. It is the kind of high-concept setup that thrives on Magazine Pocket, where bold hooks and fast pacing tend to win readers quickly.
Who Are Sho Yamazaki and Fuyu Aoki?
Yamazaki is no stranger to offbeat premises. He launched Taro Miyao Becomes A Cat Parent?! on Shonen Jump+ in May 2024, with Shueisha shipping its fourth compiled volume in June 2025. Before that, he created Excuse me dentist, it’s touching me!, which ran on Shonen Jump+ from May 2020 to January 2023 and was published in English on MANGA Plus from August 2020.
Aoki, meanwhile, brings plenty of villainess and romance experience to the partnership. With artist Virginia Nitohei, Aoki launched Merchant’s Daughter Agnes in Shueisha’s Grand Jump magazine in November 2025, with its second volume shipping on September 17. Aoki also created the light novel series Safe & Sound in the Arms of an Elite Knight, which began online in June 2022 and later ran to three volumes, with J-Novel Club publishing both the novels and the manga adaptation in English.
That combination, Yamazaki’s comedy timing and Aoki’s romance storytelling, makes this new series one to watch when it lands on October 30. Fans of villainess stories, drunken-heroine chaos and fantasy romance should keep an eye on Magazine Pocket for the first chapter.
