Wentworth: Halfway Home has revealed its first trailer — and nine more cast members joining the Binge drama. Grace Chow and Nadine Garner are among the new names boarding the spin-off, alongside returning favourites Katrina Milosevic, Nicole da Silva and Kate Box.

The series follows a group of former inmates as they try to rebuild their lives on the outside. Freshly paroled, Susan “Boomer” Jenkins (Milosevic) arrives at Sal’s Halfway House determined to win custody of her daughter and build a life for them both. But when a body turns up, the series asks who she can trust in a house full of ex-cons.
Wentworth: Halfway Home Trailer: Grace Chow and Nadine Garner Among 9 Joining Cast
The nine new additions are Grace Chow (Good Cop/Bad Cop), Nadine Garner (High Country: What Lies Beneath), Elaine Crombie (Invisible Boys), Sara West (Troppo), Claude Jabbour (Last King of The Cross), Daniel Henshall (Last Seen), Laura Gordon (Watching You), Thom Green (The Survivors) and Chika Ikogwe (Heartbreak High).
They join an ensemble led by Milosevic as Boomer, da Silva as Franky Doyle and Box as Lou Kelly, plus previously announced newcomers Rachel Griffiths as Moira, Sophie Lowe as Sam, Alex King as Dee and Chenile Chandler as Lily. It is a deliberately mixed cast: familiar faces to reassure long-time fans, and a wave of new characters to carry the story beyond the prison walls.
Garner, in particular, has spoken about admiring the original series from afar. She said she had long watched friends and colleagues work on Wentworth, admired the world the Victorian production team built, and never dreamed she would step into its next chapter — calling it a thrill to carry the story forward for its dedicated audience.
Life After Prison Is the Real Test in Wentworth: Halfway Home
The premise flips the original show’s central tension. Wentworth, which premiered on Foxtel in 2013 and ran for eight seasons in more than 170 territories, was defined by life inside. Halfway Home is defined by life after release — and by the uncomfortable idea that getting out may be easier than staying out.
For Boomer, the stakes are personal as well as legal. Custody of her daughter gives her a reason to stay on the right path, but a dead body in a house full of former prisoners threatens to pull her straight back into suspicion, old loyalties and impossible choices. The question at the heart of the series is not whether Boomer can survive prison, but whether she can survive freedom.
The timing of the first look is symbolic, too: it lands five years after Wentworth’s final episode aired on 26 October 2021. For fans who have waited half a decade to see what happened next, the trailer is both a reunion and a reset — familiar characters, a new setting, and a mystery that starts the moment Boomer walks through the halfway house door.
Wentworth: Halfway Home is a Fremantle Australia production for Binge, with major production investment from Foxtel and Screen Australia, and it will premiere on Foxtel and Binge before the end of the year.
