PLAVE is soaring to new heights. On October 27 local time, Billboard revealed that the virtual idol group had topped three of its charts with their latest comeback, mini album HYPERDRIVE, marking a major milestone in their career.

The headline achievement is on the Billboard 200. HYPERDRIVE debuted at No. 31 on the chart, which ranks the most popular albums in the United States. It is PLAVE’s first album to enter the top 40 of the Billboard 200 and only their second entry overall, following Caligo Pt.2, which debuted at No. 145 this past spring.
PLAVE HYPERDRIVE Billboard Chart Positions
The album also debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, meaning it was the best-selling album of the week in the United States, and on the World Albums chart. It is the group’s first time topping either chart, a clear sign that their fanbase is translating streaming excitement into real sales.
PLAVE also re-entered Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart at a new peak of No. 1 this week, and re-entered the Artist 100 at a new peak of No. 25, marking their second non-consecutive week on that chart.
HYPERDRIVE Songs Dominate Billboard Global Charts
The success was not limited to the album itself. Every song from HYPERDRIVE made Billboard’s global charts this week. On the Global Excl. U.S. chart, title track Star Trace took No. 32, followed by GGUN at No. 55, Sweet Rain at No. 57, The Answer Is Yes at No. 66, and Rewind at No. 105.
On the Global 200, Star Trace charted at No. 84, with GGUN at No. 128, Sweet Rain at No. 130, and The Answer Is Yes at No. 170. For a group that performs as virtual idols, placing multiple tracks across both global charts at once is a striking show of international reach.
What PLAVE’s Billboard Breakthrough Means
PLAVE’s rise has been one of the most fascinating stories in K-pop in recent years, blending virtual performance with the chart mechanics of a traditional idol group. This week’s results suggest that story has moved well beyond novelty status: a No. 1 album sales week, a first Billboard 200 top 40 entry, and a full album’s worth of global chart placements.
If HYPERDRIVE is any indication, PLAVE’s next comeback will be watched far beyond their existing fandom. For now, the group can celebrate a week that puts them firmly among K-pop’s chart heavyweights.
