The injury occurred at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Wrestle Odyssey II event, where HAYATA was defending the GHC200 Championship against Shuji Kondo. During the bout, Kondo knocked HAYATA off the ring apron, and he went back-first into the guardrail.
HAYATA immediately grabbed at his left knee and could not make it back into the ring before the referee’s count, bringing the match to a painful end.

NOAH later confirmed the diagnosis: a torn ACL in his left knee. As a result, HAYATA will no longer compete in the 2026 NOAH Jr. Grand Prix tournament, a major blow to the junior heavyweight division’s showcase event.
HAYATA is the first-ever GHC200 Champion and has been with NOAH since 2016. His list of accolades in the promotion includes six reigns as GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, as well as winning the Global Junior Heavyweight Tag League in 2017 and 2018 alongside YO-HEY.
Fans and fellow wrestlers have sent their well-wishes, hoping for a smooth recovery for one of NOAH’s most decorated junior heavyweights.
