The Roku Channel promoted the film on Tuesday with a trailer and poster, marking a career milestone for Curry — cookbook author, entrepreneur and mother of four — who is best known to sports fans as the wife of Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry.

In the film, Curry plays Chelsey, a dating expert determined to break her so-called “curse” of always getting dumped during the holiday season. Heading home for a fresh start after a string of Christmas breakups, she is reunited with her high school sweetheart, played by Matthew Daddario — leaving her to wonder whether her bad luck is actually the universe guiding her back to her first love.
The movie is directed by Maxwell McGuire and written by Erin Muroski, and produced by Muse Entertainment in association with Motion Entertainment. Casting was first announced in July, and Curry said at the time: “There’s something truly magical about holiday rom-coms. They invite you into these charming, cozy worlds where anything feels possible. Chelsey is such a fun, heartfelt character that I fell in love with while bringing her to life.”
From Small Roles to a Leading Lady
Acting is not new to Curry, but a leading role is. She had small roles as a teenager on shows including “Hannah Montana” and “Good Luck Charlie,” later appeared in supporting parts in the 2024 Netflix film “Irish Wish” and the Hulu movie “Joy to the World,” and voiced a role in the 2026 animated feature “Goat.”
Her husband has been quick to celebrate the milestone. Stephen Curry posted “My Leading Lady” on social media, adding: “I get to see the work behind the scenes, and now the world gets to see you shine, and this is just the beginning.”
“Second Chance Holiday” streams November 5 on The Roku Channel — just in time for the holiday rom-com season.
