Blake Monroe Calls Out Nick Aldis for Fantasy Booking Himself at SummerSlam: 'Fantasy Book Me, I'm the Biggest Star'

Blake Monroe is done waiting quietly. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the SmackDown star criticised general manager Nick Aldis for what she called fantasy booking himself at SummerSlam, while she says she has spent five months on the brand without the world championship opportunity she believes she has earned.

Monroe joined SmackDown in April and finally made her in-ring debut on October 2, defeating Giulia in that bout. A few weeks later, she beat Giulia again, this time in a highly acclaimed Street Fight, a run that she says should have changed how she is seen on the brand.

Blake Monroe on winning over the SmackDown crowd

“Yeah, I did. I feel like there’s nothing better as a performer than winning people over,” Monroe said when asked about her matches against Giulia. “I’m really new to SmackDown. That’s my second match, so people might not know me or they might, as I said, just think, ‘Oh, she’s a pretty face’ or ‘She’s funny in the backstages’. There’s no better feeling than proving people wrong and winning people over.”

She added that she loves to entertain and to make people feel something, and hoped the Street Fight gave the audience exactly that feeling. For a performer still establishing herself on a new brand, back-to-back wins over the same opponent, capped by a violent stipulation match, are a strong statement.

Monroe then turned her attention to Aldis, and did not soften the message. “The person I’m trying to win over is Nick Aldis because I have been on SmackDown for five months. I think I’m world championship material. I think I deserve a match with Chelsea Green and he did everything but book me in that match.”

Blake Monroe wants Chelsea Green world title match

Her sharpest line followed immediately. “He booked himself in a match at SummerSlam. He came out to Oasis. He fantasy booked himself. Well, fantasy book me because I’m the biggest star on the show and I deserve to be world champion. If they match doesn’t prove it, what will?” The reference to Aldis appearing to Oasis music at SummerSlam gave the complaint a memorable, quotable edge.

Whether Monroe’s words are a worked promo, a genuine frustration, or a mix of both, they serve the same purpose: they put her name directly beside the world title picture and beside Chelsea Green. In wrestling, that is often how a challenger earns a shot, by saying the thing fans repeat back.

With the October 30 episode of WWE SmackDown approaching, Monroe’s comments set up a natural next step. Will Aldis respond on screen, will Green answer the challenge, or will Monroe have to keep proving it in the ring? Either way, she has made her case in public, and she clearly believes the Street Fight win already proved it.
