The October movie star brand reputation rankings are out, and Koo Kyo Hwan has climbed to the top of the chart. The Korean Business Research Institute compiled the list from big data gathered between September 15 and October 15, covering 100 popular film actors.
The rankings weigh consumer participation, media coverage, interaction and community awareness, giving a snapshot of which movie stars dominated the conversation over the past month. This time, the top five all posted sizeable gains, showing just how competitive the race has become.

Koo Kyo Hwan Leads the October Movie Star Brand Reputation Rankings
Koo Kyo Hwan took first place with a brand reputation index of 3,537,917, up a remarkable 97.48 percent from September. The surge puts him narrowly ahead of a chasing pack separated by only a few hundred thousand points.
Go Youn Jung finished a close second with 3,485,880, marking a 29.70 percent rise on last month. Her steady climb reflects another strong run of screen work and public attention.
Ji Chang Wook shot up to third place with 3,425,926, an increase of 105.0 percent — the biggest percentage jump inside the top five. His recent film work alongside Koo Kyo Hwan, including the project Colony, has kept both actors firmly in the spotlight.
Byun Yo Han and Lee Jun Hyuk Round Out the Top Five
Byun Yo Han jumped to fourth with 3,409,819, up 52.04 percent from September, while Lee Jun Hyuk completed the top five on 3,150,772, a 47.99 percent rise.
The tight spread between first and fifth underlines how quickly fortunes can change in these monthly rankings. A single hit project, a festival appearance or a wave of online buzz can be enough to shake up the order.
With awards season approaching and several major Korean films on the horizon, next month’s chart could look very different again. For now, though, October belongs to Koo Kyo Hwan.
