MBC’s psychological thriller The Perfect Lie has released new stills just one day before its October 30 premiere, showing a very different side of Kang Ji Sun after what looked like a perfect first date with Min Joon Ho.
The new images show Seo Hyun Jin waking up in bed, still dressed in the clothes she fell asleep in. Her disheveled hair and dazed, anxious expression suggest something went badly wrong overnight — a sharp contrast to the bright, affectionate beach-date stills released earlier this week.
What The Perfect Lie Is About
Directed by Jo Young Min (You and Everything Else), The Perfect Lie follows a man and a woman who give completely opposite accounts of the same memory, clashing in their search for the truth. Yoo Yeon Seok plays Min Joon Ho and Seo Hyun Jin plays Kang Ji Sun, a warmhearted teacher who can also be irritable and sensitive — and those conflicting traits may shape how she tells her side of the story.
The series marks the long-awaited reunion of Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin, who co-starred in the hit Dr. Romantic 10 years ago. Their return to the same screen is one of the biggest draws for viewers, with the production team teasing that watching Kang Ji Sun’s many sides unfold will leave audiences questioning whether she is really the liar.
Release Date and How To Watch
The Perfect Lie premieres October 30 at 9:50 p.m. KST on MBC. Seo Hyun Jin reportedly threw herself into the role, studying both the script and her character’s multifaceted nature, bringing intense energy to every scene during filming.
