MBN’s upcoming romance drama What a Boss Wants is bringing the bickering-to-smitten trope back — and new stills show Sung Hoon and Oh Se Young with undeniable chemistry as a couple trapped in a three-month relationship contract.
Based on a web novel, the drama stars Sung Hoon as Kwon Do Hyuk, a chaebol boss with zero sense of taste who places absolute trust in data and logic. He feels no empathy, judges everything through reason — and carries the pain of losing his mother and a deep loneliness. Do Hyuk is on a quest to find the mysterious woman whose voice he once heard on an album.
A Contract Relationship in What a Boss Wants
Oh Se Young plays Lee Eun Chae, a woman of positive energy living a double life: by day she poses as a job seeker, but every Wednesday night she takes the stage as Soo, the lead vocalist of indie band India Red — having lied to her family about landing a corporate job. Oh Se Young prepared by rehearsing with a band and practicing singing, identifying “innocence” and “lovability” as the character’s defining charms.
Do Hyuk and Eun Chae have opposite personalities and tastes, clashing from their very first meeting. Then an unexpected turn pushes them into a three-month relationship contract — and they gradually change each other’s daily lives. Do Hyuk’s strained relationship with his father Kwon Tae Woong (Park Jung Hak), who forces him to run a struggling entertainment company, adds the chaebol-family drama to the mix.

What a Boss Wants premieres November 11 at 10:20 p.m. KST on MBN and will be available for viewing on Viki. Sung Hoon approached the perfectionist CEO from the perspective of “a child who throws tantrums,” he revealed — a hint that the cold exterior hides plenty of chaos.
