The production team behind NMIXX’s own YouTube content is facing fierce backlash after forcing member Lily to confront her childhood trauma on camera. The NMIXX Lily house fire segment was pulled from the video — but not before fans erupted in outrage.

On October 30, a video titled “Cheering for All NSWERs in the World” was uploaded to NMIXX’s YouTube channel, with members doing an impromptu acting test to deliver support to fans. The problem came with the very first prompt: “act as if your house has burned down.”
Lily’s Heartbreaking Response On Set
Upon hearing the prompt, Lily calmly said, “I don’t even have to act for this one” — instantly creating a somber atmosphere. Her fellow members froze, with reactions like “Don’t do this, seriously” and “Why bring this up?” expressing shock at the production team’s choice.
The reason the prompt hit so hard: Lily survived the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires in Victoria, Australia when she was just 8 years old. Her hometown of Marysville was directly hit in the worst fire disaster in the state’s history, one that killed many residents. Lily later revealed the trauma kept her from going outside and left her afraid of the wind — and that healing through music is what led her to become a singer.
Fans Demand Apology From Production Team
Once the video went live, fans flooded social media with anger: “How could they stage such a scenario with Lily here? That’s psychopathic,” one wrote, while others demanded, “Apologize to Lily immediately.” The production team quietly removed the problematic scene from the video, but the pain Lily faced — and her members’ visible embarrassment — can’t be edited away.
Fans are now calling for thorough review processes and genuine care when producing idol self-created content, so no artist’s personal history is treated this recklessly again.
