The Hobart/Lawrence Police Department released the records Friday night in response to a public records request. Jacobs pleaded no contest on September 10 to misdemeanor counts of battery and criminal damage to property stemming from the May incident. He was arrested May 26, three days after an incident in which a woman said he threw her to the ground.
What the Newly Released Josh Jacobs Records Say
According to the records, one woman contacted police in June — after the May investigation became public — to report an incident she said occurred on January 5, 2022. She said she spent about 11 hours at Jacobs’ home after communicating with him for months, and alleged that when she told him she had not come there for sex, he became angry, slapped her across the face, took her phone and threw it into a swimming pool, grabbed her by the hair, threw her onto a bed, pinned her down and said, “I should kill you right now.” She said she did not report it at the time because she remained friends with him and feared she would not be believed.
A second woman told police she had sex with Jacobs in April 2021, and alleged that when his condom broke and she asked him to get tested for STDs, he grabbed her by the arms and bicep area, pushed her against a wall and threw her belongings out. Police records from that incident indicated officers observed no visible signs of injury, bruising or damage consistent with a physical altercation.
A third woman told police in July that in May 2022, Jacobs grabbed her by the hair, placed his hands on her head and neck, dragged her, scratched her chest and took her phone after it fell to the floor. She said she had not reported it at the time partly because Jacobs told her she could be deported. She provided photos of the alleged altercation to police, according to the records.
Where the Josh Jacobs Case Stands Now
Jacobs missed the first six games of the 2026 season while on the commissioner-exempt list but has returned to the field for the Packers. The NFL has not formally suspended him in relation to the May incident and his subsequent no-contest plea, and the league has not commented on the new allegations.
