The Swirl have issued a warning to every tag team in AEW — and they named the biggest ones directly.
Blake Christian and Lee Johnson, speaking backstage after their Night 5 win at the NJPW Super Junior Tag League over HOUSE OF TORTURE’s Dick Togo and SHO, fired a shot at AEW’s tag division ahead of their eventual return.

The Swirl’s Warning to AEW Tag Teams
“When Blake and I get back to AEW, all of you teams, you are fucked. Not only are you fucked, you are royally fucked because Blake and I have not only gotten a whole lot better, but we have gained a whole lot of confidence,” Johnson said.
Christian and Johnson did not dodge any names. “We don’t care if it’s Edge and Christian. We don’t care if it’s your Young Bucks. We don’t care if it’s FTR. When we get back, you are royally fucked. Because we are not just a part of your story. We are the damn story.”
Johnson added that he hopes The Young Bucks win, because he would “royally love to take those titles from them.” The Bucks currently hold the AEW World Tag Team Titles and will defend them against Mark Davis and Jake Doyle at AEW Full Gear in November.
Focused on the IWGP Junior Tag Titles First
The Swirl are currently 3-1 with 4 points in the NJPW Super Junior Tag League, and their immediate mindset is on the tournament. “Our mindset is on this IWGP tournament, winning those championships,” they said.
Beyond their Japan excursion, Christian and Johnson also hold the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship alongside Jay Lethal, making them one of the most decorated trios in the ring right now.
Whenever The Swirl walk back into AEW, the tag division has been put on notice.
