Tony D’Angelo’s Character Shift in WWE NXT
This year brought a dramatic shift for D’Angelo in NXT, as he moved away from the Don character toward a persona closer to his real-life self. Speaking about the change, D’Angelo said it “worked out” and that he is happy with it, but he left the door wide open for a return.
“If there’s ever a universe where maybe we could get back to the Don stuff or maybe morph the two, I’d be a hundred percent open to it,” he said. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed that part of my career. But until then we’re going to keep rocking with the Master of Fate.”
Could The Don Return in NXT?
The Don character was a fan favorite during D’Angelo’s NXT run, blending old-school mob imagery with strong in-ring work. Whether WWE ever revisits it, or fuses it with his current presentation, remains to be seen — but D’Angelo’s willingness makes it a possibility worth watching.
