Fans inside the arena for NXT Halloween Havoc 2026 on October 31 got more wrestling than anyone watching at home. Before the premium live event went on the air on The CW and Netflix, WWE treated the live crowd to two dark matches that never made it to television.

Two Dark Matches the TV Audience Missed

The first untelevised match saw The Dropouts — Jackson Goonrey and Tyran Tuckey — take on Harley Riggins and Jax Presley in tag team action. Goonrey and Tuckey picked up the win after delivering a double superkick to Presley to secure the three-count.

The second dark match was a singles contest between Elio LeFleur and Brooks Jensen. LeFleur managed to put Jensen away with a neckscissor slam to take the victory.

Why WWE Runs Dark Matches Before Premium Live Events

Neither match was included in the official broadcast, so the results were exclusive to those in attendance. WWE regularly uses dark matches to give talents who aren’t on the televised card extra opportunities to compete in front of a live audience — and Halloween Havoc was no exception, with the October 31 event featuring more in-ring action than viewers at home actually saw.

For developmental talents, these dark matches are often an audition of sorts — a chance to impress in front of a bigger crowd and, potentially, WWE decision-makers watching backstage. Both matches kept the live crowd warm before the televised show began.
