EXO‘s Kai and Sehun are officially becoming a unit. On November 2, Newsen reported that the two members will make their unit debut in December, and SM Entertainment has now confirmed it: “Kai and Sehun will release their first mini album this December as a new unit of EXO. We ask for your continued interest and anticipation.”

Why the Kai x Sehun Unit Makes Sense
Born in 1994, Kai and Sehun are affectionately known among fans as the “94z”. The duo has repeatedly shown off their chemistry. Last year, Sehun made a surprise guest appearance at Kai’s solo concert, where the two performed together. In January, they reunited on “Jeongwating,” the spin-off of the popular web variety show “Jeongwaja (Changing Majors)” which Kai hosts, for a special episode during its winter break.
They have also appeared together in various EXO YouTube content, and the pair are set to appear as “travel partners” on ENA’s variety show “World Dice Tour 4” — meaning fans will get plenty of both of them in the run-up to the December debut.
Kai and Sehun Unit Debut Date and Details
The unit’s first mini album drops this December, though SM has not yet announced the exact release date or the album’s title. EXO-Ls have waited years to see the two youngest members team up officially, and the December timing puts the debut squarely in the year-end music season. Stay tuned for more updates as SM reveals the concept and tracklist.
