John Oliver turned his satirical lens on the new documentary “You Can See Everything” on Sunday’s “Last Week Tonight”, and the HBO host did not hold back — calling Elizabeth Holmes and her husband Billy Evans “complete lunatics,” Variety reports.

What Is ‘You Can See Everything’
The three-hour documentary, directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, was shot 34 days before Holmes was to begin her 11-year prison sentence for fraud. Fielder and his crew were invited into the rented California beach house where Holmes and Evans were living with their two children, and filming resumed two years later. The result is a surreal portrait that leaves viewers wondering what is truth and what is performance.
Why Oliver Tore Into the Doc
Oliver argued the film attempts to rehabilitate the public image of both Holmes and Evans, suggesting the Theranos scandal was exaggerated. His segment — mixing rapid-fire jokes with graphics and on-screen text — reminded viewers of the hard facts: Theranos’s finger-prick blood technology never worked at scale, Holmes was convicted of multiple counts of fraud, and Evans himself was deeply involved in the company’s internal operations. The doc, Oliver said, downplays the deceptive practices and ignores the impact on patients who received inaccurate health information.
The segment landed just as Oliver has been laser-focused on the November 3 midterm elections — last week he devoted most of “Last Week Tonight” to the disturbing ties between MAGA midterm candidates and extremist groups.
