NYSE Taps Broadridge To Bring Shareholder Voting To Its Tokenized Stock Platform

The New York Stock Exchange has tapped Wall Street infrastructure giant Broadridge Financial Solutions to bring shareholder voting and transfer agency services onto blockchain rails, in a major step for the exchange’s planned tokenized securities platform.

According to an announcement on November 2, 2026, Broadridge will provide on-chain shareholder governance and digital transfer agency services, connecting tokenized stock trading with proxy voting, shareholder communications and verified ownership records. The firm joins Securitize and tZERO as the NYSE assembles the infrastructure to bring stocks onchain — potentially letting shares trade around the clock.

Broadridge To Build The On-Chain Governance Layer For NYSE Tokenized Stocks

The NYSE will use Broadridge’s governance smart contracts to link tokenized securities with shareholder meeting agendas, voting rules and verifiable results. Investors will be able to vote through supported digital wallets, brokerage interfaces or Broadridge’s existing ProxyVote platform.

“Broadridge is building the governance layer for tokenized equities,” CEO Tim Gokey said in a statement, adding that the move makes it easier for issuers to participate by combining digital and traditional transfer agency services in one solution.

Broadridge is no lightweight in market plumbing: it serves more than 10,000 public companies globally and settles over $15 trillion in securities trades daily. Its Distributed Ledger Repo network already processes more than $360 billion in tokenized real-asset transactions daily through its DLX platform.

Regulatory Approval Still Pending

The platform is scheduled to launch following regulatory approval, which has not yet been granted. The development is part of a broader push by Intercontinental Exchange, the NYSE’s parent company, to develop infrastructure for tokenized equities and continuous trading. Market forecasts cited in coverage suggest the tokenized real-world asset market could reach between $2 trillion and $16 trillion by 2030.
