A major controversy has erupted around Glen Check after Yoo Seung Eun, the wife of member Kim June One, accused an agency official of sexual harassment. In a lengthy social media statement posted on November 3, she said the incident is one of the reasons the boy group has not been able to carry out normal activities for over a year.
Yoo Seung Eun’s Statement on EMA Official
Yoo Seung Eun claimed that for about a year, the couple raised several issues with the company, including sexual harassment. One demand was an apology for sexual harassment remarks made twice by a division director at EMA. She said current and former employees were aware of the situation and that the couple trusted a promise that an apology would be made. After it stayed unresolved, they formally requested an apology with a certified letter.
According to her statement, the company’s response was shocking: she was excluded from work, and documents related to the sexual harassment issue included screenshots of her bikini photos and selfies alongside sexually explicit comments from unknown accounts. She wrote that it felt as if the company implied she should tolerate those remarks because she was someone who typically exposed her body.
Treatment and a Call for Accountability
Yoo Seung Eun said she was deeply shocked and began treatment with a psychiatrist, adding that she is still struggling and relying on medication. She also noted she has volunteered for over three years supporting Glen Check with visual directing, design, slogans and merchandise production, working directly with company employees. She closed the statement by saying she does not want to bring anyone down — she only wants those responsible to acknowledge their mistakes and sincerely apologize where an apology is due.
