GTA 6 Preload Times and Install Size Confirmed
Digital preloading on PS5 kicks off at midnight local time in your timezone on Tuesday, November 10, Rockstar confirmed. Xbox Series X and S players get a slightly different schedule: preloading begins on November 10 at 12am GMT — which works out to 4pm PT and 7pm ET on November 9 for players in the US.
As for storage, Rockstar confirmed the preload file weighs up to 212 GB “depending on your device,” adding: “So make sure you’ve got ample space to begin pre-loading as soon as possible.” Console owners may want to start clearing out hard drives now.
GTA 6 Release Date: November 19 Global Launch With Midnight Rollout
Rockstar also confirmed that GTA 6 launches globally on November 19, using a local midnight release strategy across PS5 and Xbox Series X and S — so the game unlocks at midnight in each region’s own timezone.
Players who prefer physical media should note that code-in-box versions for both consoles “should” be available from retailers beginning November 12, a week before launch.
Free GTA 6 Cover Art Poster and Map of Leonida
Elsewhere, Rockstar announced that on launch day, November 19, it will add an official printable GTA 6 cover art poster and a map of Leonida as free digital downloads on the official site. A double-sided physical version of the poster will follow shortly after launch from the Rockstar Store — priced at just $0.99 on its own, or included as a free gift with any Rockstar Store purchase.
