PlayStation has officially announced its 2026 Black Friday sale, kicking off at midnight on November 4 on PlayStation Direct and running all the way through November 30 — but this year’s announcement comes with a notable catch: no console deals in sight.

PlayStation 2026 Black Friday Sale Details: Dates and Discounts
This year’s sale marks a significant shift from last year’s strategy, which limited discounts to the week of Black Friday itself. Instead, the 2026 sale stretches nearly the entire month, offering “deep discounts up to 75% off across thousands of PS5, PS4 and PS VR2 games, expansions, and DLC,” according to Sony’s announcement.
That’s the headline — but the details are slim. The announcement makes no mention of consoles, accessories, or PS Plus memberships, a sharp contrast with 2025, when Sony dropped a $100 discount across consoles, $20 off DualSense controllers, and $100 off the PSVR2. Sony also traditionally announces a new PS5 game bundle for Black Friday — last year’s was Fortnite-themed — but this year, there’s no mention of a bundle at all.
PS5 Console Deals Look Unlikely in 2026
With consoles already expensive and Sony skipping any hardware mention, it’s “not looking good for PS5 deals in 2026,” as IGN’s reporting notes. The sale appears to be all about games this year, including some big new 2026 releases that are expected to get their first real discounts.
Meanwhile, retailers aren’t waiting: Best Buy and Amazon have already started dropping early Black Friday deals, with extra discounts on older physical PS5 titles like God of War Ragnarok and Ghost of Tsushima for players still buying discs.
What to Expect From the PlayStation Black Friday Sale
Full deal lists are expected to go live when the sale opens on November 4. If you own a PS5 and have a backlog — or have been waiting to pick up this year’s biggest releases — this is likely your best window of the year. Just don’t hold your breath for a cheaper console.
