Kim You Jung is about to trade pickpocketing for espionage as Lee Ga Kyeong finally takes up the spy mission in the upcoming third episode of tvN’s “100 Days of Deception.” Newly released stills show her reuniting with Park Jinyoung’s character at the Japanese Government-General of Korea — their fourth meeting, and by far the most dangerous one.

Set during the Japanese occupation of Korea, the period spy romance follows Lee Ga Kyeong, a street thief who is recruited as an undercover spy for the independence movement. She infiltrates the Japanese Government-General of Korea, where she crosses paths with interpreter Kim Tae Woong (GOT7’s Park Jinyoung) — also known as Sato Hideo, the adopted son of the Inspector-General of Korea and the second-highest-ranking official in the colonial administration.
From Thief to Spy: The Deal That Changes Everything
On the previous episode, Ga Kyeong found herself suspected by police of involvement in an assassination plot against Sato Shinichi (Jin Sun Kyu), and endured a furious confrontation with Yoo So Ran (Kim Hyun Joo), whose 13 years of carefully planned revenge she nearly destroyed. Learning of Yoo So Ran’s miscarriage, Ga Kyeong turned down the money she had been offered — a rare flash of conscience from the hardened pickpocket.
The new stills show her seeking out Yoo So Ran once more, this time bruised, dirt-streaked, and visibly determined. Yoo So Ran makes her an offer she can’t refuse: take on a mission as a spy for Gugukdan, and earn her long-held dream of going to the United States. Yoo Philip (Lee Moo Saeng), however, remains unconvinced of the young thief’s true intentions.
A New Identity — and a Fateful Reunion
After striking the deal, Ga Kyeong goes undercover at the Japanese Government-General of Korea as an interpreter trainee, sporting a short bob and Western-style attire that give her a strikingly different air. On her very first day, she runs into Sato Hideo again. The two first met when Ga Kyeong stole his wallet, and later crossed paths at Yoo Philip’s house and at a pawn shop. Now they meet as interpreter trainee and senior interpreter — a workplace dynamic loaded with secrets on both sides.
The production team teased, “Spy Lee Ga Kyeong’s 100 days of deception are now officially beginning. Her precarious double life between the Japanese Government-General of Korea and Gugukdan will deliver unpredictable suspense.” They added: “What will Lee Ga Kyeong’s first mission be, and what kind of crises and unexpected variables await her? Please tune in to find out.”
The third episode of “100 Days of Deception” airs on October 17 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
