“GIFT”: A Webtoon-Based Sports Drama
Based on a popular webtoon, “GIFT” stars Kim Woo Bin as Jung Min Yong, a former professional baseball pitching coach. After an unexpected accident grants him a special ability, Jung Min Yong winds up becoming the head coach for the high school team ranked last in the nation.
The newly released teaser opens on Yoon Seo Jin (Seo Eun Soo), a physical education teacher and the manager of Deokcheon High School’s baseball team. The video then follows a baseball as it passes from player to player — before eventually reaching coach Jung Min Yong, who smiles confidently at the camera. The caption teases: “We found the solution on the field.“
December 5 Premiere Date Set
Kim Woo Bin has been on a strong run of late, and the underdog-sports premise — a last-place team, a coach with a mysterious edge, and a nation that loves baseball — has all the makings of a crowd-pleaser. Mark your calendars for December 5.
