Park Min Young and Yook Sungjae Get Off on the Wrong Foot in New SBS Romance Drama Nine to Six

SBS’s upcoming romance drama “Nine to Six” has given fans a first look at a disastrous first meeting between its two leads, with Park Min Young and Yook Sungjae getting off on entirely the wrong foot. The new stills promise a classic opposites-attract setup, where a sharp-tongued perfectionist collides with a warm-hearted newcomer who refuses to be intimidated.

In the drama, Park Min Young plays Kang Ji Yi, a workaholic deputy manager on the legal team at Chronic Motors who has put her love life firmly on hold. She has built her reputation on skill and precision, and when it comes to work she refuses to leave any room for error. Her world is orderly, logical and tightly controlled — until a new intern walks into it.

Park Min Young and Yook Sungjae’s Rocky First Meeting in Nine to Six

Yook Sungjae, of BTOB, plays Han Seon Woo, a thoughtful and caring new intern who joins Kang Ji Yi’s team. Where she is cool-headed and methodical, he is emotional, open and guided by feeling — a difference in outlook that sets up plenty of friction before any romance can bloom.

The newly released stills capture that clash perfectly. After picking up a phone dropped by Han Seon Woo in the middle of the street, Kang Ji Yi blocks his path and demands an explanation, studying him with a sharp, suspicious gaze. She presses the flustered newcomer so hard that she even cites relevant legal clauses, treating a chance encounter like a case she intends to win.

Han Seon Woo, caught completely off guard, gestures to himself with wide eyes and insists there has been a misunderstanding. But against Kang Ji Yi’s firm, unyielding logic, he is clearly outmatched — at least for now.

What Nine to Six Is About and When It Premieres

At its heart, “Nine to Six” is a story about growth on both sides. After meeting the warm-hearted Han Seon Woo, Kang Ji Yi begins to learn how to love, and the pair grow together in their careers and their personal lives. The drama looks set to balance workplace comedy with a slow-burn romance, as two people with opposite approaches to life gradually reshape each other’s worlds.

Fans will not have to wait long to see how that first encounter plays out, or how the relationship evolves from confrontation to connection. “Nine to Six” premieres on November 25 at 9 p.m. KST, and if the first stills are anything to go by, the sparks will be flying from the very first episode.
