Good Partner 2: Jang Nara Returns as Law Firm CEO Cha Eun Kyung Ahead of November 20 Premiere

Jang Nara is back as Cha Eun Kyung — and this time, she is running the firm. New stills from Good Partner 2 show the star lawyer transformed into the managing attorney of REBOM, a divorce law firm she has built into a 50-employee practice in just three years. The sequel premieres on November 20 at 9:50 p.m. KST.

Following the success of Season 1, Good Partner 2 continues the cathartic divorce drama at the heart of the series. Cha Eun Kyung, a star lawyer for whom divorce is her calling, joins forces with Kang Hye Sung (Kim Hye Yoon), an experienced lawyer who takes divorce just as seriously. Together, they become each other’s “good partner” — a pairing that promises both courtroom fireworks and a warmer, more human story about the people behind the cases.

Good Partner 2: Jang Nara as CEO of REBOM

The newly released stills make the time jump clear. Named one of the “Women of the Year,” Cha Eun Kyung carries herself with the poise and confidence of a successful CEO, her relaxed smile a long way from the pressure-cooker energy of Season 1. Yet the images also show that success has not softened her edge: even as a CEO, she remains as passionate about her work as ever, her sharp gaze fixed on her cases and her arguments in court unwavering.

That balance — authority without losing the fight — looks set to define the new season. Building REBOM from scratch in three years is no small feat in the world of the show, and it gives Cha Eun Kyung a different kind of power than she had before. She is no longer just a brilliant lawyer inside someone else’s firm; she is the person setting the culture, choosing the cases and carrying the responsibility for 50 employees.

Jang Nara on returning to Cha Eun Kyung after two years

Reuniting with viewers as Cha Eun Kyung for the first time in two years, Jang Nara described the experience as unique. Returning to the same character, she said, brought both excitement and caution, because Cha Eun Kyung has many adventurous aspects that deserve careful handling. It is the kind of honesty fans appreciate: a sequel only works if the character grows without losing what made her compelling in the first place.

Jang Nara identified “empathy” as the biggest change in the new season. She explained that Cha Eun Kyung has come to empathise more deeply with her clients’ stories as she established REBOM — so deeply, in fact, that REBOM itself will be Cha Eun Kyung. That framing suggests a season less about ambition for its own sake and more about what a lawyer owes the people who walk through her door at their most vulnerable moments.

To match that shift, Jang Nara says she tried to let go of as much of the pressure and ambition associated with the previous season as possible, approaching the role with a more relaxed mindset so viewers can watch the show comfortably. It is a telling choice: the drama may still deliver cathartic courtroom wins, but the performance at its centre sounds warmer and more settled.

With Kim Hye Yoon joining as Kang Hye Sung, the dynamic between the two leads will be the season’s other big draw. A partnership between two serious, experienced divorce lawyers — one now a CEO, the other a formidable new ally — sets up clashes, compromises and, hopefully, the kind of teamwork that made Season 1 a hit. Good Partner 2 premieres November 20, and these first stills suggest Cha Eun Kyung’s new chapter is off to a confident start.
