The newly released stills capture the pair standing face-to-face against a rural backdrop of lush green foliage. In one striking detail, Kim Ha Yeon is wearing Jo Yu Gyeom’s white shirt while still wet from the water, hinting at an unexpected incident that brought them together. He gazes at her with a blank expression while she lowers her eyes in apparent embarrassment, setting up a quietly tense first encounter.
Summer Vacation: Cho Yi Hyun and Jin Young’s First Meeting Explained
Kim Ha Yeon is an ordinary high school student who has a mysterious experience during her summer vacation before returning to reality. She dreams of something extraordinary beyond her monotonous daily routine, and that longing eventually leads her to the village of Upo. Jo Yu Gyeom, a boy the same age, leads a dull and uneventful life under the strict rules of his family’s ancestral household.
The two have no prior connection, but everything changes after an accidental encounter at an unfamiliar beach sets changes in motion for both of them. The production team teased episode 1 as an intense yet innocent first meeting, with Kim Ha Yeon, newly arrived from Seoul, and Jo Yu Gyeom, the eldest male heir of an ancestral household, leaving a lasting impression on each other at first sight.
When Does Summer Vacation Premiere?
Summer Vacation premieres on October 26 and will be available to watch on Viki. With its midsummer scenery and the fresh on-screen chemistry between its leads, the drama is positioning its first episode as the start of a slow-burn teen romance worth following week to week.
