SHIFT UP’s hit shooter Goddess of Victory: Nikke is getting a brand-new official manga adaptation. The announcement came from Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maoh magazine on Saturday, with the series set to launch this winter to celebrate the franchise’s fourth anniversary.

The new manga will be drawn by Yokoshima Penguin and will put the Goddess squad front and center as its main characters. Penguin is no stranger to the series, having previously contributed to Nikke manga anthologies.
Goddess of Victory: Nikke Manga Puts the Goddess Squad in the Spotlight
This is not the first time Nikke has made the jump to manga. The game previously inspired a slice-of-life series by Kio Utsusumi titled Goddess of Victory: Nikke Sweet Encounter. The new adaptation looks set to take a different angle by focusing squarely on the Goddess squad, the team at the heart of the game’s story.
For newcomers, Nikke blends gacha card collecting with shooter-style gameplay. Publisher Level Infinite launched the game globally on iOS and Android on November 4, 2022, with a PC version following in February 2023 that supports single-account login and cross-play with mobile. Players lead a squad of android soldiers called Nikke, humanity’s last hope for reclaiming the surface world from the alien Raptures who forced people underground.
Why Nikke Keeps Expanding Beyond the Game
The franchise has grown into a genuine multimedia property since launch. It has hosted high-profile collaborations with Chainsaw Man, NieR: Automata, Re:ZERO, and Evangelion, and A-1 Pictures animated a special video for the game’s Old Tales event in 2024. A dedicated manga following the Goddess squad is a natural next step as the series marks four years on the market, giving fans a new way into the world between game events.
