Shiretto Sugee Koto Itteru Gal Manga Goes on 4-5 Month Hiatus, Returns in February-March 2027

Taichi Matsuura and Otsuji’s Shiretto Sugee koto Itteru Gal manga is going on a 4–5 month hiatus, with the series set to return sometime in February or March 2027. The announcement was made on Wednesday, pausing a run that has been going since November 2023.

While the hiatus means no new chapters for several months, fans will not be left completely empty-handed. During the break, illustrator Otsuji will draw special illustrations for the manga, which will appear on its Tonari no Young Jump and Young Jump+ pages. So readers still have something fresh to look forward to while waiting for the story to resume.

Shiretto Sugee Koto Itteru Gal manga hiatus and return window

The series, whose full title translates to something like “Gals Casually Say Incredible Things – The Daily Life of Paranormal High School,” follows two high school gyaru, Mirai Misato and “Heeko” Taira. Mirai has the power to see the future, while Heeko can travel between parallel universes — but instead of dramatic battles, the two mostly live a normal school life, occasionally saying the strangest things. That offbeat premise has carried the series through five compiled volumes so far.

The timing also lines up neatly with the collected editions: Shueisha published the manga’s fifth volume on March 18, and the sixth volume ships on November 18, just before the hiatus fully settles in. A return in February or March 2027 would give the creative team a genuine breather after delivering a steady stream of chapters since the manga launched in November 2023 across Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump and Young Jump+ services.

The manga is based on Plott’s short web anime channel Shiritsu Paranormal Kōkō (Paranormal High School), adapting its world of psychic schoolgirls into a slice-of-life comedy. Hiatuses are common for manga tied to busy illustrators, and in this case the team is at least transparent about both the length of the break and what fans get in the meantime.

More from illustrator Otsuji

Otsuji is no stranger to juggling big projects. The artist also draws My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked (Ibitte Konai Gibo to Gishi), which launched in Ichijinsha’s Comic POOL digital magazine in November 2020 and has reached ten volumes in Japan. Seven Seas publishes it in English, with the eighth English volume released on June 23. That manga even inspired a television anime that debuted on July 8, which streamed on REMOW’s free “It’s Anime” YouTube channel.

With the sixth volume of Shiretto Sugee koto Itteru Gal arriving November 18 and special illustrations coming throughout the break, fans of Mirai and Heeko have plenty to tide them over until the manga’s return in early 2027.
