Revealing your dream home on television sounds like a fun celebrity moment — until strangers start driving into your yard. Kim Min revealed on MBC’s Radio Star on October 28 that his appearance on I Live Alone turned his peaceful home into an unwanted tourist attraction.
Kim, who charmed viewers by revealing his nature-harmonized lifestyle and distinctive living space, told host Jang Do Yeon that after the broadcast, “people come to that house too often” — strangers showed up to gawk, and cars even drove straight into his yard and left. “I was concerned about security, but they all know,” he admitted.
Celebrities Facing Privacy Invasion After Home Reveals
Kim Min is far from alone. Lee Hyori endured long-term privacy invasion after showing her Jeju home through JTBC’s Hyori’s Homestay. Fans rang the doorbell and even trespassed over the walls; her repeated social media pleas didn’t stop it. After about 11 years in Jeju, she relocated to Pyeongchang-dong, Seoul in 2023 — the warm everyday life she shared with viewers ironically became a threat to her real one.
Model and broadcaster Han Hye Jin had a similar ordeal at her Hongcheon holiday home, revealed on YouTube’s Zzan Bro in January last year: a middle-aged couple drank tea and took photos around her villa’s fire pit, with strangers parking on her property without permission. She begged on social media: “Please don’t come. There is CCTV that records even license plates. I’m asking. It’s scary.” She eventually installed gates, fences and security-company CCTV.
The Price of Sharing Too Much
The pattern is unmistakable: the more beloved the home tour, the heavier the cost. From Kim Min’s yard invasions to Lee Hyori’s wall-jumpers to Han Hye Jin’s uninvited photo shoots, the story is a stark reminder that the reality-show magic viewers enjoy on screen can become a very real security nightmare off it.
