The announcement came during a press conference held on the morning of November 3, attended by lead actors Shin Min Ah, Ju Ji Hoon, Lee Jong Suk, Lee Se Young and director Jo Soo Won. Director and Cast React to the Early The Remarried Empress Premiere

Director Jo Soo Won admitted he was feeling “nervous and excited” ahead of the launch, noting that the positive response at the Busan International Film Festival had raised his expectations. “What I was most curious about was how viewers would respond to it,” he said. “I think it makes today even more meaningful that the series is premiering on the same day as the press conference.”

Lee Se Young added that she was “even more nervous and incredibly excited” knowing viewers would get to watch it a day earlier than expected. “I’m really curious about the viewers’ reactions,” she said.

What to Know About The Remarried Empress on Disney+

Based on the hit web novel of the same name, “The Remarried Empress” is a fantasy romance that follows Navier (Shin Min Ah), the picture-perfect empress of the Eastern Empire. When her husband Sovieshu (Ju Ji Hoon) betrays her with the runaway slave Rashta (Lee Se Young) and forces a divorce, Navier takes a stunning revenge move — marrying Heinrey (Lee Jong Suk), the charming prince of the Western Empire.

A new teaser highlights that romance beautifully: Prince Heinrey shapeshifts into a bird to fly to Empress Navier. His secretary McKenna (Choi Dae Hoon) tries to stop him, warning that “there are still lots of eyes watching,” but Heinrey ignores him with a mischievous wink and takes flight. Landing in a garden where Navier waits, she removes a tiny scroll from the bird’s leg — revealing the series’ new premiere date.

Episodes 1 through 4 of “The Remarried Empress” drop today on Disney+, with two new episodes releasing every Wednesday. The 10-episode season will run through December.
