Ishigami voices Rufus Stan as a child; new voice drama streamed

Kadokawa announced one more cast member on Friday for the television anime of Hiro Oda‘s Yowaki MAX Reijō nanoni, Ratsuwan Konyakusha-sama no Kake ni Notte Shimatta (Even Though She’s a Timid Young Lady to the Max, She Agreed to Her Shrewd Fiancé’s Bet) light novel series. Shizuka Ishigami voices Rufus Stan as a child.

Kadokawa is also streaming a “visual video” featuring a voice drama titled “Aru Natsu no Hi no Futari” (Two People on a Certain Summer Day).

The anime will debut in October, and will star (character name romanizations are not confirmed):

Nobuaki Nakanishi (I Shall Survive Using Potions!, Shin Koihime Musō TV) is directing the anime at Jumondo. Hiroko Fukuda (Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four!; Our Dating Story: The Experienced You and The Inexperienced Me) is overseeing the series scripts, and Moe Hyūga (The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, Victoria of Many Faces) and Natsuki Hamada (Always a Catch!) are composing the music at Kadokawa.

The romantic comedy centers on Pia, an ordinary grad student who gets reincarnated as a 10-year-old background villainess in an otome game. She remembers the game ends with her engagement with the prime minister’s son Rufus Stan called off and her banishment from the land, so she asks Rufus to already break the engagement while they are young. But her request only piqued Rufus’ interest in her more, and he makes a bet with her to see if he will really call of their engagement in seven years.

Oda launched the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in January 2020. That early version has nine chapters and ended with two epilogue chapters. Kadokawa started publishing the novels with illustration by Tsubasa.v in August 2020, and the seventh volume shipped in April 2024. (Oda has since posted more tie-in short stories and spinoffs on Shōsetsuka ni Narō.)

Aji Murata launched a manga adaptation on Comic Walker as part of Kadokawa‘s Flos Comic website in 2021. Kadokawa published the manga’s fifth compiled book volume on February 16. The overall project has 1.2 million copies in circulation.

‘Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru II’ Unveils Additional Cast Pair, Fourth Promo

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Shigeru Sagazaki‘s Katainaka no Ossan Kensei ni Naru (From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman) light novel unveiled an additional pair of cast and a fourth promotional video for the second season on Friday. The anime series premiered on July 8 at 11.45 p.m. on TV Asahi, followed by AT-X and BS Asahi.

Voice actors Kensho Ono (Jigokuraku) and Sumire Uesaka (Shunkashuutou Daikousha) are joining the cast as Warren Flumvelk and Shueste Flumvelk, respectively.

Akio Kazumi (Hitoribocchi no Isekai Kouryaku) is directing the anime at Passione and Hayabusa Film. Kunihiko Okada (Seiken Gakuin no Makentsukai) is handling the series composition. Satsuki Hayasaka (Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki) is designing the characters and serving as the chief animation director. Yasuharu Takanashi (Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu) is composing the music.

Produced by Passione and Hayabusa Film, the first season aired for 12 episodes in Spring 2025. Amazon Prime Video is streaming the anime series worldwide.

Sagazaki began writing the novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in November 2020. Square Enix began publishing the light novel under its SQEX Novel imprint in April 2021, with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima (Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou). The 11th volume was released on August 6.

A manga adaptation by Kazuki Satou began in Young Champion magazine in August 2021. Akita Shoten published the ninth volume on June 26.

J-Novel Club licensed the light novel in English in October 2023. The tenth light novel volume went on sale on August 10. Yen Press licensed the manga in March 2024. The fifth manga volume was released on April 28, with the sixth volume scheduled to be released on September 22.

An official X/Twitter account confirmed on August 7 that author Kennoji and artist R_ringo‘s My Sword Saint Master Is Too Cute to Live With! (Dōkyo Shiteiru Kensei no Onna Shishō ga Kawaisugite Mainichi Shiawase Desu) manga will get a television anime adaptation. Deregula is producing the anime. The staff revealed a teaser visual.

Kadokawa‘s listing of the manga’s second volume in January had previously listed a television anime for the manga.

The manga launched on the KadoComi website in March 2024. The second volume shipped on January 23.

Seven Seas Entertainment announced at Anime Expo in July it has licensed the manga. The company describes the series:

Deadline: Disney+ Cancels New Power Rangers Series – News

Live-action show will move past development stage according to report

Deadline reported on Thursday that Disney+ and 20th Century TV have canceled the companies’ planned live-action Power Rangers series and that the show will not move past the development stage. Deadline’s sources stated the cancellation is budget related rather than creative.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz were brought on to produce the show. Hasbro would have also produced the show.

Power Rangers Dino Fury, the latest series in the Power Rangers franchise, premiered on Nickelodeon in February 2021. The series is based on, and repurposes footage from, Kishiryū Sentai Ryūsoulger. The show’s second season debuted on Netflix in March 2022. The third season, titled Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, debuted on Netflix in September 2023.

Netflix streamed the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always 30th anniversary special in April 2023.

Digital Eclipse and Hasbro released the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind game digitally for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch in December 2024.
