The New Denpa Men Game Ends Service on December 7 – News
Free-to-play game launched in July 2024

The official website for Genius Sonority’s The New Denpa Men (New Denpa Ningen no RPG FREE in Japan), a free-to-play game in The Denpa Men (Denpa Ningen) series, announced on Monday that the game is ending service on December 7 at 11:00 JST because the staff determined that it would be difficult to continue providing a service to meet fan expectations.
The game has halted sales of in-game Jewel currency and other paid items on Tuesday. The website will detail information regarding refunds of unused in-game currency after the game ends service.
The game launched as a timed exclusive for Nintendo Switch in July 2024 and later got releases on iOS and Android devices. The game got a Nintendo Switch 2 version on April 5.
Genius Sorority released the first Denpa Ningen no RPG game for Nintendo 3DS in Japan in February 2012. Nintendo released the game in North America and Europe later that year with the title The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave. The game received three more installments on Nintendo 3DS, two of which (The Denpa Men 2: Beyond the Waves and The Denpa Men 3: The Rise of Digitoll) received Western releases. The Denpa Men RPG Free!, the first free-to-play game in the series, was released in Japan in July 2014. Genius Sorority released all four installments in the series digitally.
The New Denpa Ningen no RPG game arrived for smartphones in February 2017.
In the games, players capture the titular Denpa Men to create a party and tackle dungeons. Players use cameras to find nearby Denpa Men in their surroundings and capture them.

WWWave Corporation‘s anime streaming platform OceanVeil began streaming the television anime of Asari Endō‘s Magical Girl Raising Project Restart light novel series on Monday.
The company also recently began streaming the Persona 4 The Animation anime on September 26.
The Magical Girl Raising Project Restart anime debuted on TV Tokyo on Monday late at night at 2:00 a.m. (effectively Tuesday), and then on AT-X and BS Fuji on Wednesday.
The anime stars:
Nao Tōyama returns from the original anime as Snow White.
Hiroyuki Hashimoto returns from the first Magical Girl Raising Project anime as the director. Takao Yoshioka is returning to write the script. Masako Itou (Magical Girl Raising Project SD character designer) is designing the characters for the new anime based on original designs by Maruino. Satoki Iida is returning as sound director. Synergy SP is the new animation studio, replacing Lerche that animated the previous Magical Girl Raising Project anime. Minori Chihara performs the anime’s opening theme song “No tears here.” Daisy×Daisy performs the ending theme song “ReMind.”
The first 12-episode Magical Girl Raising Project anime premiered in Japan on the AT-X channel in October 2016, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.
Endō’s Mahō Shōjo Ikusei Keikaku light novel series is set in a world where a social game called The Magical Girl Raising Project allows one in tens of thousands of people to be a “magical girl” — possessing extraordinary physical capabilities and looks, as well as special magical powers that set them apart from the rest of the human race. But one day, in a district containing 16 magical girls, the administration announces that it must halve the number of magical girls to solve the problem of magical energy. At first, the 16 magical girls race to collect more “magical candy” than their competitors, but the rules quickly become twisted, and it quickly becomes a murderous battle for survival among them.
Endō launched the original light novel series through Takarajimasha‘s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! Bunko imprint in June 2012, and Takarajimasha published the 18th volume in November 2023. The second and third light novel volumes, published in November and December 2012, cover the “Restart” arc. Yen Press began publishing the novel series in English in June 2017.
Nori-Senbei launched the manga adaptation of the “Restart” arc in Kadokawa‘s Monthly Comp Ace magazine in 2016, and Kadokawa published one volume in September 2016.

Hunter X Hunter Manga Creator Yoshihiro Togashi to Limit Work Due to Physical/Mental Health Issues – News
Togashi to decline future work requests with deadlines in order to focus on his own manuscripts

Hunter X Hunter manga creator Yoshihiro Togashi stated on X/Twitter on Monday that due to physical and mental health issues, he will decline future work requests with deadlines after completing his current commissions, so that he can focus on his own manuscripts.
Togashi’s Hunter X Hunter manga went back on hiatus on September 7 after having resumed serialization on June 29. The manga left off in its 420th chapter, and Togashi recently posted an update on September 15 stating that he had finished the manuscript for the 428th chapter. Shueisha published the manga’s 39th compiled book volume (image right), its first volume in 22 months, on July 3. The manga has exceeded 100 million copies in circulation (including digital copies).
Shueisha published chapters 401 to 410 of the manga in its Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from issue 45 of 2024 to issue two of 2025. Togashi underwent surgery and announced that he had drafted the storyboard layouts for two more chapters of the manga in December 2024.
The manga went on hiatus in January 2023, citing health issues for the author. Shueisha stated at the time that it consulted with Togashi, and decided that the manga should not follow a weekly serialized format going forward. The editorial department added that once it knew concrete details of the manga’s return and how the manga would be serialized going forward, it would reveal the details in the magazine.
Togashi launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1998. The manga inspired two television anime series, two anime films, several original video anime titles, and several stage plays. Viz Media releases the manga and anime in English.
