NCIS: Origins Taps Mark Harmon for Big Season 3 Mystery

Published

on

“NCIS: Origins” is bringing Mark Harmon back in front of the camera for a big Season 3 mystery.

The actor and executive producer, who has appeared on two episodes of the CBS prequel series and narrates every installment, will appear as present-day Leroy Jethro Gibbs in all 10 episodes of the upcoming season. His arc will be tied to a season-long mystery that connects to Gibbs’ ’90s Camp Pendleton days, where the show is set.

The news comes as “NCIS: Origins” left fans with a few big cliffhangers at the end of Season 2, including Randy (Caleb Foote) getting kidnapped for his work moving NIS files into a computer, and Lala (Mariel Molino) and Gibbs (Stowell) finally sealing their feelings for each other with a kiss.

“NCIS: Origins” follows the rise of young Gibbs through the NCIS ranks in the ’90s. Harmon previously appeared onscreen as Gibbs, the character who anchored the flagship “NCIS,” in series premiere in 2024 and as part of an “NCIS” and “Origins” crossover in 2025.

“NCIS: Origins” also stars Kyle Schmid, Mariel Molino, Tyla Abercrumbie, Diany Rodriguez and Caleb Foote. Executive producers for Season 3 include showrunner David J. North, Harmon, Sean Harmon, Michele Greco and Eric Christian Olsen. The show is produced by CBS Studios. Series co-creator Gina Lucita Monreal exited at the end of Season 2 to pursue other opportunities.

The series will continue to air Thursdays on CBS this fall alongside the flagship “NCIS.” Also joining the lineup is new spinoff series “NCIS: New York,” which brings back LL Cool J’s Sam Hanna to lead a new team alongside a new partner, played by “Hawaii Five-0” alum Scott Caan.

Mark Harmon Returning To ‘NCIS: Origins’ As Gibbs For Season 3

Published

on

Mark Harmon is returning to NCIS: Origins for a season-long arc.

Harmon, who previously starred as Leroy Jethro Gibbs for 18 seasons on NCIS, will appear in all episodes of Season 3 as part of a present-day mystery tied to his ‘90s Camp Pendleton days. This marks his third appearance on the spinoff series, though it’ll be the first time his character is part of the entire story.

The story seemingly kicked off when he appeared in Season 2 for a Veterans Day crossover between NCIS and Origins featuring the younger Gibbs (Austin Stowell) and his team investigating the small-town death of a naval officer in the ‘90s on Origins a case that was unexpectedly reopened in the present day on NCIS.

Harmon, who serves as executive producer on the series, also narrates each episode of Origins. He also previously reprised his role in the series premiere.

NCIS: Origins follows a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Stowell) in the early ‘90s, years prior to the events of the flagship series. The series also stars Kyle Schmid, Mariel Molino, Tyla Abercrumbie, Diany Rodriguez and Caleb Foote.

Origins Season 3 executive producers are David J. North, Mark Harmon, Sean Harmon, Michele Greco and Eric Christian Olsen. The series is produced by CBS Studios.

Season 3 of NCIS: Origins will air Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT in the fall on CBS.

Not Alone Trailer: Timothée Chalamet, Selena Gomez in Animated Movie

Published

on

Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez have an out-of-this-world connection in the teaser trailer for their animated movie Not Alone.

Eric Guillon, Claire Dodgson and Jonathan Del Val directed the feature that Universal Pictures is set to release on April 16, 2027. Hailing from Illumination, the project has a voice cast that includes Brett Goldstein, Rob Brydon, Jamie Demetriou, Diane Morgan, Allison Janney and Lamorne Morris.

Not Alone marks the debut animated feature for Chalamet, who stars as Joe, a solitary rocket mechanic whose life lights up when he meets Fran (Gomez), an astro-botanist focused on creating the first plant-fueled rocket. After the pair develop chemistry while prepping for rocket’s launch, their lives change significantly when three tiny and opinionated aliens begin sharing Joe’s home as they hide from an intergalactic officer of the law.

“Did I just make you blush?” Gomez asks Chalamet in the trailer as the pair get to know each other. “I didn’t take you for a blusher.” This leads him to reply, “Because I’m not.”

Guillon co-directed Despicable Me 3, while Dodgson edited such films as The Lorax and Minions: The Rise of Gru, and Del Val co-directed Minions: The Rise of Gru and The Secret Life of Pets 2. Serving as producer is Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri, while Joy Poirel, Richard Curtis and David Distenfeld are executive producing.

Chalamet, who can be seen later this year in Dune: Part Three, teased Not Alone in an Instagram post earlier this month, just before the movie was announced at the Annecy International Film Festival.

Amanda Righetti, Spencer Locke Among Cast For Horror ‘Shed’

Published

on

EXCLUSIVE: Amanda Righetti (The Mentalist), William Mapother (Lost) and Spencer Locke (Insidious: The Last Key) are among cast for female-led psychological horror feature Shed, which recently wrapped production in Nashville, Tennessee.

Written by and starring Valerie Jane Parker (The Bikeriders) and directed by Mila Vilaplana, the movie follows Becca, “a successful but emotionally isolated young woman whose unresolved trauma begins haunting her from inside her own body”.

Cast also includes Kym Jackson (We Bury the Dead), Armando Rivera (Untitled Onyx/Hulu), Lilian Rebelo (Only Murders in the Building), Audrey Venable (Marbles), Taylor Novak (Where the Bullets Go), Liz Atwater (Hellcat), and Ronnie Meek.

Pic is produced by a predominantly female creative team and by Preacher’s Daughter Pictures and Dipsomania, two female-owned production companies. The feature expands on Vilaplana and Parker’s proof-of-concept short, which was accepted into ten film festivals.

Producing is Sarah Haas, and executive-producers are Valerie Jane Parker, Chris Connor and Cole Pendery of Shadowwood Ent.

Shed explores the intersection of grief, identity and the body through a distinctly female lens,” said Vilaplana. “Amanda, Spencer, and William each bring something powerful and specific to this world, and we’re thrilled to have them join the cast.”

Parker added: “The response to the proof of concept made it clear that this story resonates. Expanding Shed into a feature gives us the chance to go deeper into trauma and transformation in a way that feels both intimate and unsettling. At its core, this is a horror story about grief, survival and the strange ways the body remembers.”
