Actor, Voice Actor Toru Shinagawa Dies at 90 – News

Talent agency Knockout announced on Monday that actor and voice actor Toru Shinagawa died on August 29. He was 90.
Knockout stated Shinagawa had been undergoing medical treatment for lymphoma.
Shinagawa was born in Hokkaido in 1935, and graduated from a performing arts institute in 1962. After graduation he joined a theater troupe run by Takeo Hodoshima.
Shinagawa was active in stage, film, television, and in voice acting. He was known for the role of a professor in the Shiroi Kyotō (White Tower) live-action series in 2003. His starring role in the 2014 film No no Nanana no ka (Seven Weeks) earned him a special award at the 24th Japan Film Professional Awards. In recent years he appeared in such films as Yama Onna, Ai no Komuragaeri, Doll House, and Menkyo Hennō!?.
Shinagawa appeared in the two Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen live-action films in the Fullmetal Alchemist franchise as the King of Xerxes. He also appeared in the live-action MW film, and played the Principal in the live-action 2002 film Dark Water.
In anime, Shinagawa voiced Hisashi Imakurusu in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Ak in Shōnen Santa no Daibōken, Ichiro Shinohara in Fancy Lala, Dollar Cross in Lupin III: Swallowtail Tattoo, and Professor Steamson in Project Blue Earth SOS. He had minor roles in Sorcerer Hunters, Wolf’s Rain, Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files, Jinki:Extend, and more.

Uncle’s Obsession with Cute Things Anime’s 2nd Trailer Reveals More Cast Members, Theme Song Artists – News
The official website for the television anime of Tsutomu‘s Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki. (Older Men Like Cute Things) manga started streaming the anime’s second promotional video, and revealed four new cast members, and the theme song artists on Monday. The video previews the opening theme song “LIKE³” by Yūsei Yagi. Kaori Maeda, who will also voice the character Rio Shigeoka, will perform the ending theme song “Tōtoi♡Kaiwai” (Precious Neighborhood).

The anime will debut on Tokyo MX on October 4 at 10:00 p.m., and will air later that evening on BS Asahi and on YTV on October 5, and on AT-X on October 8. The anime will exclusively stream on the Japanese streaming service FOD in Japan. Crunchyroll will stream the anime under the English title Uncle’s Obsession with Cute Things.
The anime stars:
Tomoe Makino (The Moon on a Rainy Night; Kotaro Lives Alone; Please Put Them On, Takamine-san!) is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS. Yū Satō (Kotaro Lives Alone; Sorairo Utility; Please Put Them On, Takamine-san!) is in charge of series composition. Tomomi Kimura (Kotaro Lives Alone) is designing the characters. Takamasa Nakakuki is the art director, while Akira Hashigami is the color key artist. Tomoya Hosaka is the director of photography, while Kiyomi Yamada is the editor. Fumihiko Ōtera is the sound director, and Magic Capsule is credited for sound production. Arisa Okehazama is composing the music. YTE is credited for music production, and Futokoro Gatana is credited for music production assistance.
The manga centers on Mitsutaka Oji, a 40-year-old man who by all appearances is attractive and cool and is excellent at his job. However, he has a secret: he absolutely loves small and cute things. The comedy manga follows his everyday life.
Tsutomu launched the manga on Flex Comics‘ Comic Polis service in July 2017. Flex Comics released the 12th compiled book volume on August 7. The 13th volume, listed as the final volume, will ship on October 15.
The manga previously inspired a live-action television adaptation in 2020.

‘Marronnier Oukoku no Shichinin no Kishi’ Reveals Additional Cast, Opening Theme, Second Promo

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Nao Iwamoto‘s Marronnier Oukoku no Shichinin no Kishi (The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom) manga revealed the additional cast, opening theme, and the second promotional video on Monday. The anime series is scheduled to premiere on October 3 at 6.25 p.m. on NHK E-Tele.

Singer-songwriter yama (Sanda) is performing the opening theme “Sayonara wa Iwanai,” with Seiji Kameda (Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru) handling the arrangement. The opening theme song is previewed in the promotional video below.
Kiyoko Sayama (Fumetsu no Anata e Season 2) is directing the anime at J.C.Staff, with Shinzou Fujita (Dekin no Mogura) handling the series composition and script. Yuriko Maeda (WIXOSS Diva(A)Live sub character design) is designing the characters. Yoshiaki Fujisawa (Apocalypse Hotel) is composing the music.
Iwamoto began drawing the historical comedy manga in monthly Flowers magazine in September 2016. Shogakukan published the 11th volume on June 10.

Tsutomu began drawing the comedy slice of life manga on the Comic Polaris website in July 2017. Flex Comics published the 12th volume on August 7.
A live-action drama adaptation aired on Yomiuri TV in five episodes from August to September in 2020. Coinciding with the release of the fourth volume, BookLive released a manga video starring voice actors Kenjirou Tsuda and Takuya Satou as Mitsutaka Oji and Wataru Naruto, respectively.
