Monday Night Football delivered an instant classic at SoFi Stadium as the Buffalo Bills edged the Los Angeles Rams 37-34 in overtime. Tyler Bass drilled a 45-yard field goal with 1:55 left in the extra period to settle a thriller that featured eight lead changes and 35 combined fourth-quarter points.

It was a night of personal milestones too. The win was Josh Allen’s 100th career victory — and remarkably, his first ever in an overtime game after seven previous defeats. The Bills improved to 4-1 while the Rams fell to 2-3.
Overtime chaos at SoFi
The extra period was pure theatre. Buffalo won the toss and elected to kick, and Allen immediately hit Khalil Shakir for a 57-yard catch-and-run to the Rams’ 22. But James Cook fumbled on the next play, with Aaron Donald recovering for Los Angeles.
The Rams drove into field-goal range, only for Greg Rousseau to burst through and block Harrison Mevis’ 48-yard attempt. Given a reprieve, Allen scrambled for gains of 19 and 13 yards to set up Bass, who split the uprights to spark wild Bills celebrations.
A shootout for the ages
The game barely resembled the defensive first half that Buffalo led 13-7. The teams combined for 71 points and 890 yards, with touchdowns on six straight drives to close regulation. Cook’s 5-yard score with 1:39 left put Buffalo up 34-27, before Matthew Stafford marched the Rams 63 yards in 94 seconds, Kyren Williams punching in from the 1-yard line with five seconds left to force overtime.
Allen finished 12-of-19 for 210 yards and a touchdown through the air, adding 121 rushing yards and a score. Stafford was superb in defeat, throwing for 383 yards and three touchdowns, with Puka Nacua hauling in 17 catches for 138 yards — a Monday Night Football record.
