Netflix is serving up a new nightmare for anyone who has ever taken a sketchy gig for the money. The streamer’s upcoming mystery-horror fantasy “Dead-End Job” has unveiled new stills starring Lee Jae Wook, Go Min Si, Kim Min Ha, and Lee Hee Joon — and every frame promises that the scariest thing about these part-time jobs is the paycheck.

The premise is brutally simple. Hyeok Jun, played by Lee Jae Wook, is drowning in debt when he stumbles across a strange employment agency offering part-time jobs that pay 50 times the usual hourly wage. It sounds like a miracle. It is actually a trap. Each gig drags him into a hellish workplace filled with horrors he could never have imagined, and the stills make one thing clear: the higher the wage, the heavier the price.
One still freezes Hyeok Jun mid-shift as a milk deliveryman, standing rigid in an ominous, empty atmosphere. Others hint at what is waiting for him: a tense standoff inside a convenience store, a run-in with a suspicious clown, and sudden appearances in places he does not recognize. Every job is a new threat, and the growing question is whether he can survive all of them.
A Woman With Secrets and a Sister Who Fears Nothing
Hyeok Jun is not the only one pulled into the agency’s orbit. Yeon Ju, played by Go Min Si, appears before him after he witnesses the unbelievable — a mysterious woman who seems to be chasing the truth behind the too-good-to-be-true wages and the agency itself, Spider Staffing Agency. Her expressions swing between a bright, disarming smile and a hollow stare, and it is impossible to tell whose side she is on.
Then there is Ji Yun, played by Kim Min Ha, Hyeok Jun’s younger sister and a fellow part-timer. She is famously bold — the kind of person who is not even afraid of ghosts — yet the stills catch her drenched in sweat, anxiously clutching her phone. In another shot, she grips an insecticide spray under harsh red lighting, warily scanning her surroundings. Whatever she is facing, it has rattled someone who does not rattle easily.
The Two-Faced Boss Running the Show
Overseeing it all is the owner of Spider Staffing Agency, played by Lee Hee Joon, and he may be the most unsettling figure of all. The stills capture his two faces perfectly: in one moment he wears a cryptic, unreadable expression while peddling jobs of dubious origin; in the next, he is reassuring a panicked Hyeok Jun with a generous smile. It is the smile of a man who knows exactly what he is selling — and what it costs.
With its mix of workplace satire and full-blooded horror, “Dead-End Job” looks like it is tapping into a very modern fear: that the gig economy will literally eat you alive. Lee Jae Wook leading a genre ensemble this strong is reason enough to keep the lights on when it premieres.
